Don’t forget, our official community grand opening/ rededication of the building/ consecration of the small chapel/Bishop’s Ely’s visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6th starting at 10 a.m.  Please hold this date on your calendar!  It is sure to be a great day!

 

Our White Gift Basket responsibility for the month of May is Brookhaven Learning and Treatment Center in Chelsea. Items of particular need for their summer camp program include:  swimming gear (goggles, flippers, water shoes, towels, waterproof sun screen), art supplies (markers, colored pencils, construction paper), blank writing exam booklets or journals (appropriate for boys), keepsake boxes, corn starch and food coloring for art projects, playing cards, Frisbees or sandbox equipment.   Thank you for your ongoing generosity.

 

Community Events and Needs:

 

The Vermont Chapter of ECVA is hosting a series of five summer workshops on plein aire watercolor painting.  These workshops will occur around the state.  The first of the workshops will be held on Saturday, May 17 at Oakledge Park in Burlington.  For more information contact Peggy Poppe at 238-4256 or via email at ppoppe@verizon.net

 

Grace Church in Sheldon will be hosting a farewell brunch for The Rev. David Walters next Sunday, May 18 after the 9 a.m. Eucharist.  Also, new chancel carpet will be dedicated at the service.  For more information, contact either Beth Crane at 326-4603 or Sue Palin at 933-2406.

 

Bella Voce Women’s Chorus will present A Jubilant Song  - spring concerts on Saturday, May 17 at 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Burlington and on Sunday, May 18 at 3 p.m. at the South Hero Congregational Church in South Hero.  For more information refer to the posters in the Parish Hall or see Rose.

 

All Saints Episcopal Church in Burlington will have its annual Lobster Supper on Saturday, May 31.  Sittings will be held at 5 and 6:30 p.m.  See the red flyer on the bulletin board in the Parish Hall for information regarding pricing and how to make a reservation.
